What we believe
GOD is the creator and sustainer of the universe,
infinitely perfect, eternally existing as the one true Triune God. In the unity
of this Godhead, there are three persons of one individual essence, who are
co-equal, co-existent and co-eternal; namely, the Father, the Son and the Holy
Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4;
Romans 1:20; Colossians 1:16; Matthew 3:16, 17; 28:18, 19; 2 Corinthians 13:14;
John 1:1,2, 18; 10:33; 14:26; 15:26; Philippians 2:6; Hebrews 9:14).
The BIBLE is God's Word
to everyone. Both the Old and New Testaments were written by human authors,
under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is inspired by God,
without a mixture of error and is God's complete and trustworthy revelation for
Christian belief and living.
(II Timothy
3:15-17, I Thessalonians 2:13 & II Peter 1:21)
MAN/WOMAN were created
in God's image as the supreme objects of God's creation. Although they were
given a tremendous potential for good, they were marred by an attitude and act
of disobedience toward God called "sin." Sin separates us from God.
We were created for eternity. A person will either exist forever separated from
God by sin (in Hell) or live forever with God (in Heaven) through God's
forgiveness and salvation.
(Genesis 1:26-27;
3:6; Ephesians 2:11-18; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2; John 3:16; I John
2:25,5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15)
JESUS CHRIST as God's Son
came to earth, lived a sinless life & became our perfect sacrifice for sins
by dying on the cross, and rising again on the 3rd day. He ascended to Heaven
and will soon return as King of Kings and Lord of Lord's.
(Matthew 1:18-23;
Hebrews 7:26; Acts 10:37-38; II Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 28:1-6; Philippians
2:9-11; Revelation 19:11-16)
SALVATION is a free
gift from God. We can never make ourselves good enough through good works or
self improvement. Only by turning from a life of sin and placing our trust in
Jesus can we receive God's offer of salvation, forgiveness of sins and eternal
life
(John 14:6; Acts
4:12; Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Romans 6:23; Hebrews
4:14-15; I Corinthians 15:3)
The HOLY SPIRIT, who is equal with
the Father and the Son as God, is present in the world to make us aware of our
need of salvation. He makes the presence of Jesus real in our lives and has
come to convict, guide, comfort and enable us to lives pleasing to God. The
empowering presence of the Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father is available
to every Christian. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an New Testament
experience available to a Christian for empowerment for ministry and operation
of spiritual gifts.
(II Corinthians
3:17; John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8, 2:4; 10.44-48; 19.1-6; Ephesians 5:18; Galatians
5:25; I Cor. 12.1-11; 14.18)
The Church is
the spiritual body of which Christ is the head. The true church is composed of
all persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by
the Holy Spirit. This body expresses itself in local assemblies whose members
have been baptized upon a credible confession of faith and have associated
themselves for worship, instruction, evangelism, and service. The ordinances of
the local church are baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe in the
interdependence of local churches and the mutual submission of believers to
each other in love.
(Mt. 28:18-20; Acts
1:8, 2:41-47; Eph. 5:21; Col. 1:18; Heb. 10:24-25)
HEALING has been
provided by the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross. We can now experience
physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and relational wholeness because of
God's healing power.
(Psalm 107:20; Isaiah
53:5; Luke 4:16-21; I Peter 2:24-25)
